KingSituated up above Port Isaac, Anchorage nestles amongst its elegant neighbours in a popular terrace overlooking Port Gaverne cove on the north Cornish coast.
From its elevated position this stunning Victorian house, lovingly and skillfully restored to provide an exceptional home-from-home, boasts breathtaking panoramic views across the sea, cliffs and coastline. The seascape forms the backdrop to the spacious and welcoming sitting-room, which leads into the glass-roofed dining-area where delicious meals can be prepared in the modern, well-equipped kitchen.
Throughout Anchorage, neutral tones complement the original Cornish slate-flooring in the kitchen and the tiles used in the bath and shower-rooms. As the house is in true 19th Century style, staircases lead to all the bedrooms, split over three levels and each with its own bath or shower-room. The sitting-room and two bedrooms have full sea views, spectacular whatever the weather.
Step outside, and dine al fresco in the landscaped, enclosed terraced garden, gather round the fire-pit and enjoy special moments together or pull up a chair on the delightful front terrace and simply sit back and relax as the sun sets out to sea. This really is a terrific house for a family gathering, celebration or a group of friends who simply need an excuse to get together.
Port Isaac is utterly delightful with its winding narrow streets, eclectic shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, and the odd celebrity chef! In fact, Port Isaac is home to two of celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw's restaurants.
During the summer months you might be lucky enough to catch a live performance from the Fisherman’s Friends as they delight crowds on the Platt with their enchanting sea shanties. Port Gaverne, only a short stroll down the road from Anchorage, is a sheltered cove where children and adults alike will enjoy the crystal clear blue sea. For those looking for a true adrenaline rush, here you can link up with Cornish Rock Tors who offer coasteering, rock climbing and sea kayaking.
Coastal walks are a must in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and for those who want to ride the waves, the stunning surfing beach of Polzeath is also close by.
