Step back to an era of grandeur! Nancealverne House is a Grade II Listed (starred) manor set within 14 acres of parkland with a lake and rowing boat. The accommodation (sleeping eight plus a cot) consists of the first floor of the house and the majority of the ground floor.

There is a sunny conservatory/dining-room which stables a full-size Victorian rocking horse, and also at this level are the television snug, the sitting-room and four bedrooms, with all rooms looking out over the parkland and lake. The sweeping staircase leads down to the ground floor where you will find the large drawing-room, perfect for gatherings. Apple Loft Cottage (3017) is situated to the rear as well as two privately rented apartments and there is another property to the side.

Once the Georgian home of tin mine owners who were pioneers at St Just next to Poldark's Wheal Leisure, part of the 18th Century house was built with prize money from Nelson's battle of the Nile.

Two ancestors fought alongside Admiral Nelson at the Battle of the Nile in 1798 and another served with the Duke of Marlborough. You can explore this history through the many books and pictures at the house.

Family members were involved in the early tin mining endeavours in Cornwall in the 1700s. They were engaged in the perilous tin mining explorations at Wheal Owles and Wheal Hermon which were situated next to the mine depicted in the recent Poldark television series.

The house itself combines easy relaxed comfort with a taste of the grandeur of the past. Generations of the Armstrong family give you the warmest welcome into their family home which has been rated highly by the many families who have stayed there. The wonderful Victorian rocking horse is a hit with all children, teenagers appreciate the well-equipped snug for watching television, grandparents can find peace and quiet in the elegant drawing-room, leaving others time to drink coffee in the conservatory under the vine leaves or sip wine in the sun by the summer-house.

Children have always been part of the lifeblood of the house and from the baby bath to the seat on the terrace the needs of all ages are well and truly catered for.

Nancealverne House has so much to offer for families that you may not wish to stray far. The house however is perfectly situated for exploring the coast and beaches of west Cornwall and the many Cornish attractions such as the Eden Project, the Minack Theatre (carved into the cliff at Porthcurno) and St Ives.
