Bedroom 1

Double

Sitting in the heart of Exmoor National Park, Week Cottage dates back to the 1690s and is all picture-book old world charm inside. A spacious boot-room, perfect for muddy boots (and dogs!), leads into the compact kitchen and beamed sitting/dining-room beyond, where soft rugs cover the original quarry tiled floors and a cosy leather sofa allows you to snuggle up by the wood-burner. Traditional steep cottage stairs lead to the bedroom and bathroom.

Adjoining the owners’ home but completely self-contained, there is a private patio and barbecue area and a gently sloping enclosed garden. So don your walking boots, grab the dog’s lead and stride off over the moors – and return to this welcoming retreat to relax by the wood-burner, perhaps stopping at the local pub, just half a mile from Week Cottage.

As well as the excellent walking in this area, the market town of Dulverton is just a few miles away – a lovely place to visit for local shopping, cafes and treats to remember your holiday by! Beyond Dulverton, visit the famous and historic Tarr Steps and spend a relaxing few hours by the river. Withypool also has a lovely riverside picnic area.

A bit further afield, visit medieval Dunster with its National Trust castle and the National Trust village of Selworthy, between Minehead and Porlock – where there is a wonderful stretch of the South West Coast Path to explore.

Week Cottage enjoys the seclusion of being set in the heart of Exmoor National Park, so mobile signal can be weak, however guests with an iPhone can access mobile reception through the WiFi but the signal can be intermittent.

All in all, Week Cottage is a perfect base for a full and peaceful rural holiday.
