The cottage is in a great location with easy access to the coast and surrounding countryside. The owners have done an excellent job to include all of the modern day requirements and still maintain the 1940s feel and look of the property. We would highly recommend this cottage....

Loved, loved, loved staying at the Officers Mess. Jane & John have done an amazing job sympathetically restoring this building whilst keeping its history. The furnishings were very nostalgic, reminding me of my grandparents home, especially the relaxing ticking of the clock. There are lots of modern comforts though, the hot tub, bbq and sun beds were great 21st century additions. The property is in a very rural location. Lovely walks from the door along the coastal path, but you will need to use your car to reach shops and restaurants. You can buy milk direct from a farm about a mile away which we didn’t because we stocked up from a supermarket, but would have if we’d known about it. Jane & John are very welcoming hosts and nothing is too much trouble to make your stay amazing. Thoroughly recommend....
