A delightful cottage. Superb location for walking the coast and park. A handy pub and foot ferry to Plymouth. We visited in winter, it was warm and cosy. There’s electric heating plus a log fire with plenty of firewood. We have recommended this lovely cottage to our friends. ...

What an excellent find. The facilities of the property suited us perfectly and the proximity to the Cremyl Ferry, the Orangery Cafe and the Edgcumbe Arms pub was a real bonus. The location, gardens and grounds are idyllic and within moments of arriving we had already decided to return (and we rarely return anywhere as there’s always too many new places to see !)...

Location great, 3 places to eat within walking distance so no need to use the car. Storage area outside good for bikes/kayak. Loved the terrace over looking the Sound. Brilliant for the dog, lots of lovely walks in shade or sunshine and free travel on ferry. Would definitely stay again. ...

Mr & Mrs Carr April 2024

Lovely place, just perfect for a couple (and a pooch) really felt special and part of the grandeur of the estate. Between dusk and early morning when the gates are locked, you have the formal gardens to yourself, even outside the gardens, there is rarely anyone else around. I could sit at Barn Pool beach (5 minutes stroll from the lodge) all day and watch the world go by, usually very sheltered from and breeze. Overall a very lovely relaxing spot. The nearest villages of Kingsand & Cawsand are delightful (the Cawsand carpark is free after 4pm), other than that there is not a great deal between there and Looe. If you return to the lodge after dusk, you must enter the park by the main entrance, the gate will be locked (code for padlock provided) then go through the same process for the gate next to the lodge (which can be interesting, if you have used the local pub and left your reading glasses behind), not a problem overall but came as a bit of a surprise....
