The sitting-room has a wood-burning stove and deep comfy sofas to curl up on.
Two sets of doors open onto this wide paved terrace and the fully enclosed garden. The post and rail fencing also has rabbit proof wire and so is as secure as is reasonably possible.
The kitchen/dining-room is really spacious, with the front door opening to the farmstead.
The two and a half acre arboretum is the most beautiful and peaceful place to explore, sit with a book or have a picnic lunch.
Stairs lead from the sitting-room to the first floor of the cottage. There is also a door directly out onto the patio.
The kitchen is a delightful sociable space to cook in, with the farmhouse table in the other half of the room.
The sparkling worktop will inspire you to cook, but there is also a footpath through woodland directly to the friendly local pub.

The main bedroom has a king-size bed and its own en suite shower-room. High ceilings and a large window make this room lovely and light and airy.
You can sit in bed with your morning cup of tea and look out over the meadow. You are quite likely to see deer grazing in the evening or early in the morning.
The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the corridor.
This is the en suite shower-room for the master bedroom. The wonderful shower has a rainfall shower head as well as a conventional one.
The second bedroom has views out over the 2.5 acre arboretum which is filled with unique tree species.
The bathroom next to the twin bedroom has a bath as well as a fitted shower.
The second bedroom set up as a super-king bed.
What a fabulous countryside setting these friendly neighbours have to roam and enjoy.
The garden is fenced to reassure parents with young children and guests who wish to bring their dog with them.

This is our third visit to this cottage - which I think says it all. The cottage is welcoming, clean and exquisitely presented. All the furnishings are of a very high standard. The bed is so comfortable, a great night's sleep is a given. It is light and airy and conversely, the log burner makes it warm and toasty, in the cooler months. The patio and garden are both generous in size and very dog-friendly, as it is fully enclosed. They are both well maintained. With its rural location, it is quiet and relaxing, yet its proximity to the coast and M5, means all parts of Devon are easy to access. Lucy and Ian are lovely and friendly hosts. The welcome pack, of their home produced crab apple jelly and fresh eggs, are a delight. This is an absolute gem of a cottage and we will definitely be returning....

We had a lovely stay in March 2023 and everything was perfect. The cottage is first class and in a lovely location with the nearest pub being a short walk away. We were able to let our dog run around the garden safe in the knowledge that adequate fencing would keep him contained and therefore allow us to relax and enjoy the holiday stress free. The owners are lovely people and while making sure that we had everything that we needed left us alone to enjoy the cottage and the lovely local area where people are friendly and there are plenty of local pubs with good food to enjoy. We have already booked to go back in October of this year and we would highly recommend this cottage to others who want a holiday in Devon....
