Keepers Cottage

A lovely secluded property. Very spacious and great social area looking out onto a nice large garden. Well equipped and appreciated the welcome goodies.. Very quiet area and lovely to hear the steam train at the bottom of the track with a lovely walk to see the train. Thoroughly recommend the farm shop (Briddlesford Farm), great breakfast and shop… the antiques emporium at the top of the lane is worth going to also. So much to see and do. Only negative aspect to holiday house is the lane to the property. It is described as an unmade track but it is extremely uneven and would be no good for a low slung car. The bottom of our car took a few scrapes which wasn’t pleasant. Once navigated, the cottage was beautiful....

Keepers Cottage was the perfect home from home for a Christmas break. Cosy but large enough to have extended family over for dinners and get togethers. Lots of communal space for people to relax in and with a second lounge this made perfect space for younger children to hang out. The kitchen was equipped for every kind of catering you could imagine, double ovens and all the necessary quality pots and pans, so we cooked up a feast on Christmas Day. Bedrooms were all roomy and the beds really comfortable with beautiful linen. Absolutely the best break we’ve had for a long time. We weren’t expecting Christmas decorations, so we were thoroughly delighted to arrive to find a beautiful wreath on the door and Christmas tree in the lounge, which made our trip even more festive and special. The welcome hamper was delightful, so a huge thank you from us. Truly felt like home and I didn’t want to leave! ...

If you are looking for peace, tranquility, beautiful surroundings, a charming, well equipped cottage and total escapism then Keepers Cottage is everything you are looking for. Set down a quiet, off the beaten track lane, Keepers Cottage is a delight. The cottage has everything you need and beautifully furnished. Outside is a wonderful garden with ever changing wildlife. We would highly recommend Keepers Cottage to anyone. The only downside is that we have to leave! Thank you, we look forward to our next visit. ...

Fantastic cottage with an incredibly well-equipped kitchen. Very homely feel and quite different with the cottage having the ‘new wing’ . Beautiful garden tucked away along an unmade lane with potholes. This didn’t worry us at all but probably unsuitable for low-slung cars and definitely not for sports cars! We would go back, particularly as it was only 20 minutes from the ferry....
