Our stay at Lavender Barn will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. The boiler leaked oil all over the floor prior to our arrival. The boiler was fixed on the third day of our stay, but the smell of oil lingered, and we were without heating and hot water for two days. These things happen, and the owner did everything she could to rectify the situation....

We're very sorry again for the issues you experienced with the boiler during your stay at Lavender Barn. Situations such as this are thankfully uncommon, but can occur unexpectedly and we can only apologise that this coincided with your holiday. The issue was just a small drip following the annual service, but thank you for your understanding that the owner did everything that she could, including providing portable heaters and arranging the engineer to return as quickly as possible. A lovely well equipped and comfortable cottage in a quiet location and good surroundings and a nice garden to sit in. Once off the Devon country Lanes to the main roads (about 5miles), many places in both Devon and Cornwall are easily accessible.
