John's Deli has shops and cafes in both Appledore and Instow. There are also some excellent pubs and little galleries to browse in.
The local pub is just down the road.
Across the estuary, reached by a lovely seasonal passenger ferry, is Instow, where there are wide sandy beaches at low and high tide.
A few hundred yards away you can stroll down the slipway at low tide for a sandy stretch of beach for your four-legged friend and children to enjoy.
Appledore is a traditional old fishing village with a wonderful network of little lanes and passageways to explore.
Catch the ferry from Bideford quay for a day out to Lundy Island.
North Devon's beaches are as good as any in Cornwall for surfing! Endless stretches of golden sand and rolling waves. This is Saunton Sands.
Charming Clovelly is a short car journey away.

A lovely cottage with beautiful furnishings. Comfy beds and plenty of hot water for showers, very welcome after a long day's walking! This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in and extremely well situated for the South West Coast Path. We would definitely recommend it....

Pretty location close to parking. Very comfortable and furnished well. Welcome cake and wine lovely on arrival.
