Mr Boardman August 2024

The Dairy is compact but perfectly put together. We have been twice and on both occasions it was as described and very clean. The location is tucked away from the main road, so is peaceful. There are many walks from the door or within a short drive. Monkey World is a 50 minute drive and Sculpture by the Lakes is a 40 minute drive(both outside Dorchester). Burrow Farm Gardens takes about 25 minutes, just beyond Lyme Regis; both worth a visit. The local pub (The George) provided good food and service, but book if you can. ...

The Dairy is an ideal retreat for two. Great area for walking and exploring. We only used the car once during our week's stay. We caught the bus twice from Chideock. Then walking back along the coast path.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dairy, which is situated in a tranquil and peaceful spot with stunning views of Golden Cap. It is very well-equipped and comfortable, and in a perfect location for exploring the area, particularly on foot.

Outside there is a small courtyard at the back accessed through French windows with a table and chairs. A nice sunny spot from where there are lovely views to Golden Cap. Location is well suited for walking with an easy footpath (past the sewage works) down to Seatown beach. Of note, the A35 road through Chideock is very busy. ...

A warm welcome on arrival from the owner; clean, quiet, warm and very comfortable accommodation with a wonderful view of Golden Cap from the living room. During my visit I: went sea-swimming at Seatown; walked the SW Coastal path (Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury); visited local National Trust sites and the Dorset Museum (a larger exhibition of Elizabeth Frink's work starts in December 2023; visited the Museum at Chideock, generally relaxed and recharged and ate the best that only the West Country can offer. The local bus service located on the A35 is excellent and opens up travel options if you want to leave your car at the cottage. Wholeheartedly recommend....
