The historic building and fabulous grounds compensate for the lack of en-suite rooms.

First trip to Nancealverne House (June 2022) Very well situated just off A30. Lots of lovely grounds to wander around including a market garden to see and circular walks. The House has a lovely aspect, you can watch foxes on the field at night just past the lawn. Garden to the side with summerhouse/ bbq is the one to use. The House is the upper floor plus the staircase down to a stately room- we just closed off the stairgate and lived on the one level, using the side entrance, up a flight of steps (only door you can lock). It's a spacious place with good areas for eating, tv watching, reading etc. Beds were exceptionally comfortable (all with mattress toppers) and house was very clean with every utensil and even a coffee machine! Nice older furniture and not too many trinkets to break so you weren't on edge all the time with little ones! We had also booked Apple Loft and asked for the connecting garden gate to be opened so was easy access. Would recommend and definitely return. ...

Our family, three generations, had a really enjoyable stay at Nancleaverne house. The house was spacious and well proportioned giving all of us plenty of room to socialise or have individual space. The fantastic weather we had whilst there allowed us to make full use of the gardens. The house was generally well equipped and a wonderful time was had by all....

Nancealverne House is a most interesting, historic family home and a wonderful place to stay. Set in beautiful grounds you can explore, the house is grand with elegant, airy rooms. We loved the many family portraits lining the walls which bring the fascinating history of the place to life and enjoyed trying to work out who’s who. We all felt very comfortable during our stay. The house was clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. Everyone loved the spacious rooms where we could get together as a family after such a long time, as well as having their own space when needed.Eating together in the conservatory was an enjoyable experience whatever the weather. Being able to buy fresh vegetables from the onsite market garden was great. We loved the peace and quiet. We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful old house. Nancalverne is close to many lovely places to visit but the best thing is coming back here at the end of the day to it’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking forward to staying here again....
