Appledore sits opposite Instow and a passenger ferry runs between the two during summer months.
North Devon is renowned for its incredible coastline, miles and miles for all the family to enjoy. Great for surfing, kite surfing and walking. This is the beach at Instow.
Catch the passenger ferry from Bideford Quay for a day of birdwatching on Lundy Island.
Charming Clovelly is a short car journey away.
Sit and admire the view from the harbour at Clovelly.
Have a day of adventure at North Devon Wake Park where you can wakeboard, paddle board or enjoy the giant aquapark!
Bideford is a pretty market town.

Fig tree cottage is a lovely place to stay, the peace and quiet of the countryside but only a short drive to the coast. This is the second visit for us, and we enjoyed our stay just relaxing and not doing a lot.

Fig Tree Cottage is a perfect peaceful rural retreat ideal as a getaway after a days hustle and bustle on the beach or Exmoor. It’s close and convenient to town, Instow and beaches but the private garden gives you space to relax and unwind. The birdsong in the mornings was amazing....

Fig Tree cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It is very well equipped and immaculately clean. It has a beautiful enclosed private garden as well as access to woodlands and open lawned area. The location is ideal for exploring the area as it is rural but only 10 mins to the estuary at Instow and 20 mins to the coast. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a holiday in a fantastic, peaceful location....

This is a beautiful cottage a real credit to its owners. It has everything you could possibly need and is decorated to an extremely high standard. A great base for exploring the North Devon coast. Would highly recommend.
