Crab Apple Cottage is a real gem. Beautiful location and near to so many local attractions. Lucy and Ian are fantastic hosts and very welcoming. Lovely places to eat nearby too.

Mrs Lewis May 2023

Crab apple cottage was every bit as lovely as we remembered it from last year. Everything you could need for a relaxing holiday had been thought of by Lucy and Ian who are excellent hosts. Ourselves and our dogs had a wonderful week and will definitely be booking for next year....

This is a beautiful cottage in an ideal location to access lots of Devon. Furniture, bedding, etc all good quality. The owners Lucy and Ian are very friendly, helpful, their home made produce of chutneys, jams and cider were delicious. Would recommend this cottage to families and couples throughout the year....

This is our third visit to Crab Apple Cottage and we still enjoy it as much as our first visit. Lucy and Ian are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and a good location to get out and about. We have booked again for later in the year and again for next year....

Mrs Beale April 2023

Crab Apple cottage is a wonderful space to relax and unwind in the heart of East Devon. The cottage itself is cosy, beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It's within easy reach of the coast, Exeter and Dartmoor but there are many gems to visit closer to home too; magnificent hill forts at Blackbury Camp and Hembury, beautiful woodland at Blackborough and wonderful gardens and houses at NT properties Killerton, A la Ronde and Knightshayes. We also especially like the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth and walking the coast path between there and Branscombe. Another favourite spot is Budleigh Salterton where the walk to the cafe at Otterton is full of wildlife and interest. The Drewe Arms at Broadhembury is excellent for food. Lucy and Ian are exceptional hosts at Crab Apple; they are on hand if needed but generally unobtrusive. The welcome pack is full of home produced, delicious treats. Last, but definitely not least, I need to mention the arboretum; literally on the doorstep, this is a magical place to listen to the dawn chorus, soak up the scent of the apple blossom and truly get away from it all, relax and recharge. We've visited four times now and already looking forward to our fifth stay next year! ...
