Situated in what has to be the finest waterside location on the Roseland peninsula, Varcoe is an idyllic holiday retreat, lovingly designed to offer beautiful interiors which marry seamlessly with mesmerising views. Portscatho is the most charming of Cornish villages and Varcoe is perfectly situated just 100 yards from the beach and a short stroll from the village centre with fabulous views across Gerrans Bay and beyond. Each room captures the very essence of holiday life, offering the perfect retreat for either large families or groups of friends looking for a blissful Cornish retreat.

From the moment you arrive at Varcoe you will be enchanted. From the front door, five steps lead down into the spacious hallway which takes you to the living areas and ground floor bedrooms. The kitchen/diner is simply stunning, with triple aspect windows offering a sea view and a fabulous kitchen which will elate the most discerning chef. This super sociable space has stools so guests can sit and chat whilst culinary delights are prepared in the electric Aga (not in use during the months of June, July and August), or the electric oven if you don't feel brave enough to use the Aga! A handy utility-room has a freezer, washing machine and tumble-drier.

The sitting-room is a relaxing haven, decorated in blue and grey hues to match the seascape views. Cosy sofas provide the perfect spot to sit in front of the open fire and the Smart TV will provide your evening entertainment after a busy beach day. French doors lead out from here onto the terrace. The conservatory has steps leading to a table-tennis table and pool table, ideal inclement weather activities which the whole family can enjoy.

Three bedrooms can be found on the ground floor, all charmingly furnished and dressed with luxurious linens. Bedroom one is a pretty bedroom with twin beds suitable for either children or adults. Bedroom two is a gorgeous room with a king-size bed and French doors leading to the conservatory. Spacious bedroom three has twin bunk-beds which the children will adore. The ground floor is also home to a stylish bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle, and a shower-room, the ideal place to rinse sandy toes.

Climb the stairs and you will find elegant bedrooms four and five. Bedroom four has a luxurious 'zip and link' bed so you can choose either twin beds or a super-king double. Bedroom five has a comfy king-size bed and a view of the ocean so you can enjoy your morning cuppa with a sea view, perfect! The family bathroom on the first floor has a bath and a separate shower, ideal for either a long soak or a refreshing shower.

Step outside and the magic of Varcoe continues. Sit on the sunny terrace and take in the panoramic views from dawn until dusk, just what holidays are all about! Terraced gardens lead down from the patio and you are welcome to enjoy the space however please take care as there is a steep drop, the steps are open on one side and can be slippery when wet. A gate at the bottom of the garden leads onto a very narrow cliff path which in turn will take you to steps leading down to rocks at the top of the beach. Should you choose to use this route please take extra care as it is tricky to navigate and supervise children at all times. When the weather allows, at high tide it is possible to swim from the rocks from your very own access point.

Portscatho is a charming village with all the amenities you will need on holiday, indeed you may decide to stay local and never take your car out. Tatams serves excellent coffee and fresh pastries with a view of the pretty harbour and Tavola offers home baked pizza and pasta to eat in or takeaway. Take an early morning swim from Tatams beach then stroll along the coast path beside Varcoe to the Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick beach where guests sit side by side on wooden benches dining on the freshest of local produce. Walkers will have miles of coastal walks to discover with hidden coves, pretty fishing villages, and sandy beaches along the way.

The vibrant village of St Mawes is a short drive away where you will find a good selection of eateries, from fine dining to fish and chips eaten from the paper admiring the view from the sea wall. The calm waters of the harbour are ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding through crystal clear waters to secret coves. The passenger ferry runs from the harbourside to the maritime town of Falmouth where you will find an eclectic assortment of shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Whether you plan to explore further afield or relax in your idyllic surroundings, you will never want your holiday to end at Varcoe.
