As you are only moments away from sandy Shaldon beach, enjoying a day waterside with a good book is a must. Followed by a crisp glass of something tasty in one of the local watering holes to end the day, perfect!
If dining, walking, exploring and relaxing in the sun is on your holiday agenda, Homesdale is the perfect choice. Parking the car, throwing away the keys and heading out on foot is so easy to do.
The cottage itself is approached by exterior stone steps, once inside you enter through the kitchen/diner and the cosy sitting-room overlooks the village street. The garden shared with owners is a very pretty area too, offering a wonderful spot to enjoy a touch of dining al fresco.
The owners, who live in the house attached to the property, are on hand and happy to recommend local activities, eateries and other 'must do' days out.
The village of Shaldon is home to some very special and breathtaking scenery, coupled with endless activity. Shaldon offers a great day out for all as it's ideal for swimming, sailing and rowing, along with paddle boarding and kayaking, water lovers will be in their element.
Take the oldest passenger ferry in England across to Teignmouth, where you will be treated to another helping of cafes, pubs and restaurants. Teignmouth also offers a great array of bustling traditional seaside entertainment, which is always guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit.
Nestled in Shaldon you are perfectly located to explore and enjoy south Devon in greater depth, as you are within striking distance of many other popular towns and villages; Totnes, Dartmouth, Brixham, Kingsbridge and Salcombe, to name just a few, which are definitely worth a visit.
