DoubleOak Tree Barn is a family-friendly barn conversion set within the beautiful foothills of the Quantock Hills National Landscape. It is perfectly placed in the peaceful setting of the unspoilt village of Thurloxton.
This two storey barn is full of character that the whole family will love. The large, enclosed level garden is the perfect for both children and your furry friends to play safely in and it'll be easy to keep an eye on them from the sunny patio. Oak Tree Barn is situated on the far edge of the grounds of Thurloxton Manor and there is lots of space to explore; keep an eye out for the grazing horses, who are always in need of a pet on the nose. The grounds even have a shared tennis court in the adjoining meadow.
Inside, the sociable open-plan living space offers a wood-burner that you can cosy up to while enjoying some TV or a good book. The living-space is complete with French windows so that you can have a wide view of the gorgeous countryside that Oak Tree Barn is perched within. Of course, the well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need during your stay, so that you don't have to go without! The barn is flexible and fun too - the double bedroom is on its own private mezzanine level and downstairs there is a twin bedroom. Both rooms offer comfortable mattresses for you to rest on after a day full of holiday activities.
The owners' friendly help is at hand should you ever need it but you are assured of your privacy during your stay. Their manor is out of sight to the barn and you even have a separate access, beyond a wonderful copse of ancient trees, so that you can have the best of both worlds.
The setting here is ideal for two families on holiday together, as Orchard Barn (3289), sleeping three, is close enough for you all to enjoy each other's company but is still set well apart, so that they do not overlook each other. With their own secluded gardens, privacy is ensured when booked separately.
Should you find yourself looking for something to do, why not take a trip to Kilve Beach, sitting halfway between Minehead and Bridgwater; it is the perfect place for a family picnic. As a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the beach is also home to lots of fossils. Closer to home is Hestercombe Gardens, offering 40 acres of natural beauty including streams, temples, woodlands and terraces. After a busy day, why not head to the Monkton Inn, a friendly village pub just a mile and half away.
