We had a wonderful time in a truly beautiful location. We live locally but we could have been anywhere in the UK. It was so peaceful and such a treat to wake up to such a glorious view. The log burner made for very cosy mornings, but the hut stayed warm all day with the sun favouring us on our short break. Our pup loved laying in th sun that poured through the French doors onto the fluffy rug! Great amenities, divine bed and seriously comfy sofa. It's the best laid out shepherds hut I've come across, designed with small living and minimalism in mind, but also comfort - so many just have wooden chairs with cushions for sitting. We were also surprised by how much bigger the inside was than expected. Outdoors was equally lovely - beautiful decking and a fabulous hot tub that our lovely hosts heated ahead of our arrival. Tricky to work out the next day when you've never lit a fire but instructions are provided and the hosts are minutes away and very helpful. We spent half our time outside bird watching, enjoying the quiet and playing with our daxie who loved his first holiday. Only minor issue was that we hadn't realized that horse riding lessons take place directly behind the hut as this isn't shown in the photos. For an adults only location we hadn't expected to hear a handful of screaming kids running around when we had planned on using the hot tub that evening. It only lasted an hour and a half or so but we had come to get away from that at home. Wouldn't put us off coming again - the hut blocks more sound than expected inside too - but it's useful to know if that is something that would taint a trip for you. The safari tent next door was also not in use so enjoyed the space to ourselves. All in all, we won't hesitate to come back...I'm already looking for next year, or even a 2024 winter break. ...

We're delighted you had a wonderful time and found the hut to be comfortable both for yourselves and your Dachshund on his first holiday! Thank you for your glowing review with lots of useful information about the hut which you found to be a very well thought out space with all you could need for a relaxing break. We were sorry you found the tranquillity interrupted by noise from children having riding lessons. We have investigated the horse-riding facility and have added a note about this and a photo showing the area where the lessons take place to the website. We're so pleased you had a wonderful time in the peace and quiet of this charming area of Devon. We would love to welcome you back soon. Sarah, Customer Support...

A brilliant stay in Devon with very easy access (10 min drive) to the beach and into Dartmouth. Plenty to do in the local area and then return back to a log fired hot tub and fire pit with stunning views and more than enough privacy. Definitely recommend to anyone seeking a few days of peace and quiet. ...
