There are many creeks and beautiful scenery in and around the Helford River.
The rugged coast can be explored via the South West Coast Path for a short walk or a full day out ending up in a pub.
The pretty harbour at Porthleven is surrounded by cafes, small shops and restaurants, something for everyone.
The large family-friendly sandy beach at Praa Sands is a short twenty minute drive away.
Visit the estate at Trelowarren with its Woodland Walks (April to October)

A lovely and well fitted out cottage with friendly and helpful owners (John & Anne) on site who readily helped out with one or two queries. It is so useful to have owners on site as opposed to being remote, many miles away. It is a very peaceful location and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay. The only snag (for me) was the narrow, single-track lane from the main road leading to the Cottage...

Cowhouse Cottage provides a real home from home. It is beautifully refurbished, extremely comfortable and cosy. The location is excellent. It is very peaceful and tranquil but has very easy access to the whole region. The secure and spacious parking is a great bonus. We did not want to leave and we are very grateful that this lovely property was available. We only had one week away from home in the whole of 2020 so we will never forget the happy time we spent at Cowhouse Cottage....

We had a lovely holiday at this delightful and really homely cottage. Covid meant things had to be different but it did not spoil our enjoyment. The cottage had everything we could have asked for and we had fun cooking meals in the lovely and well equipped kitchen rather than eating out. We met Anne and John (the owners) over the fence and enjoyed talking to them. They made us feel very welcome despite the restrictions that Covid places on everyone. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this delightful cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Cowhouse Cottage is a clean, warm, well-equipped cottage, well situated for our explorations of the Lizard and Land's End peninsulas. Ample parking and easy access to main roads was also really helpful, along with shed space to store outdoor equipment....
