We had a really lovely holiday at Moorhayes. It’s a lovely barn that’s been well converted and had ample space four our family of four. The wrap around garden was great fun for the kids as were the cows poking their heads through the hedges! The barn had everything you needed and was very comfortable. We had a very warm welcome from the owner and she kindly sent back a toy that had been left behind. The surrounding area was beautiful. We would highly recommend a stay at Moorhayes....

Excellent cottage to relax and switch off in. It was bigger than expected, usually this size would be a three bedroom, so it felt airy and spacious. Thank to Alison's recommendation we had a fabulous walk in a bluebell wood. Well equipped cottage, it felt looked after and well maintained, even a housemartin in residence. 50mins to Beaches at Bude and Widemouth, along fairly good minor roads. ...

Moorhayes is a gorgeous cottage in a lovely quiet area. We would recommend and definitely stay again.

The only holiday cottage we have ever rebooked. We live in a quiet rural location and while Moorhayes suits us, it may be a bit out of the way for some, otherwise please see review from 2014!

We had a very enjoyable short break at Moorhayes Cottage over the Christmas period. The owners kindly put up and decorated a Christmas tree ready for our arrival, and a lovely cream tea was also laid out - really thoughtful touches. The cottage feels like a home away from home and has clearly been renovated and decorated to a high standard. Kitchen well stocked with crockery etc and the beds exceptionally large and comfortable. Absolutely no problems during our stay, and for any queries Alison and Darren were readily available on the telephone. The cottage is 20 mins drive from Okehampton which has all necessary shops & supermarkets. A further 20 mins drive is the lovely market town of Tavistock, or Lydford Gorge (National Trust). We also went on a 5 mile walk directly from the cottage, through the surrounding villages. The area has a quiet, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I am hopeful we may return for another holiday at this cottage as it was so delightful. ...
