Mrs Hendy November 2024

The Cottage welcomes you in as soon as you open the door. It holds a wonderful sense of history at the same time as being incredibly comfortable. It’s in such a great location, right in the heart of Marazion and it only takes a few moments to get on the beach and to the Causeway to St Michael’s Mount. Although there is no parking, we were always able to use the half an hour parking outside the cottage to unload/load and the long stay car park is not too far away, where you can pay for the full week. We had an amazing time exploring Marazion and further afield and used the local bus services, which were also very good. We definitely hope to come back again soon....

Mr Franks August 2024

We have just returned from a great weeks stay at The Cottage. It was everything we had expected it to be, a very charming place to stay with a wealth of history aswel as everything we needed for modern living. For us it was most useful to be on the doorstep of all the shops and restaurants. Having stayed at the most busy of times on an August bank holiday, we fully expected a lot of interest in The Cottage from passers by, people do take pictures by the door but we did spend a lot of our day exploring and this didn’t bother us. We also managed to get parked outside almost every time, to drop everyone off then move the car to the car park, we didn’t find this a problem at all. The Cottage we found very clean and the beds were very comfy. Despite the quirky nature, uneven floors and low ceilings, the house is very solid and we found it more than suitable for our 5 year old who didn’t want to leave. ...

We had a lovely stay at The Cottage. The interior was quaint and pretty, with lots of lovely details. We had everything we needed. The garden was also lovely. There are some low doorways and creaky features, but this is all part of the charm. We would love to stay again. ...

This is a beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. We have visited 4 times and found 2 new recommendations this time. The copper spoon deli, yummy cheeses and cakes and the big green shed for breakfast and lunch. A drive away but worth it for the food. ...

Fabulous location in the very centre of the village. But parking is a challenge. Rarely had the opportunity to even pull up outside. But that's nearly everywhere in the centre of Marazion. The Cottage including its history was endearing. It's quirky rooms and use of spaces for modern living have been interestingly developed. Our family joke was, a hard hat should be hung in the hall, I don't know how many times my husband banged his head (mainly on the lounge entrance) and he's only 6ft. We have also never seen so many pictures of St Michael's Mount in one house. As historical as they may be, it was a bit over the top. Room sizes were great. Uneven floors made it interesting. On occasions we did feel overlooked by passers-by as they didn't hold back in stepping up to the front door or peering around the corner to discover there was no path to the beach there. If I can be truthful ... the house is not entirely designed for young children and definitely not babies. We definitely felt as a family that the price was very high for what was on offer (twice what we paid the previous week), perhaps the price has reliance on its historic value. Would definitely suit foreign visitors looking for quirkiness and history. But we have stayed in other homes in Marazion which offer much better value and are in equally great positions in the village. Perhaps this old and this quirky wasn't for us. We had a challenging 2 weeks in Marazion, which was marred by my husband being in hospital in Truro for 6 days. Thank goodness Marazion offers peace and quiet in the evenings, the walks on the beach when the tide is lower are fabulous and were my happy place. Even more beautiful when the sun shines. Beautiful sunsets and an ever changing view of Mounts Bay and St Michael's Mount too. ...
