Overall a nice location, a great place to stay

This was our 8th stay at Water's Edge. We love the location and the house generally, though we do feel we are now paying a great deal of money for that location and some aspects of the comfort provided need attention. On the whole a lovely property with easy walking from the door and close by the ferries for lovely days out. It is worth noting that there is no 1st floor toilet at the three storey house so from the lounge it's either up or down to the facilities... the bathrooms are lovely, well appointed and spotless. ...

Beautiful location with the most amazing views. The house inside is lovely and everything is of the highest quality. The outside space, however, was disappointing, loose tiles on the steps down to the water (very dangerous) and I don’t think it had been swept up for some time. We did that ourselves when we arrived to tidy it up a bit! An umbrella for the table and some outside lighting would’ve been nice too - could be so much nicer with a little thought as sitting out there looking at the views was one of the main attractions for us. This cottage stands out in our view because of the personalised attention to furnishings and ornaments. Quite an unusual amount of time and effort and resources have been put into this accommodation to give it a homely feel. Unusual but very welcome in our experience for a rental cottage....

Water's Edge is as good as the photos depict. Sitting out on the patio with the harbour in front was both relaxing and interesting, watching the harbour traffic and the small ferries coming and going from the nearby Prince of Wales Pier. The only drawback is the garage, we had a small car (Peugeot 108) so were able to access it without a problem but larger cars may find their best option is the parking space provided about 1/2 mile away. The best holiday self catering accommodation my sister and I have ever used. Spotlessly clean with everything provided, all you have to do is put your feet up and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine!...
