Tucked away down its own private track, this picture-perfect thatched cottage is a little gem. Surrounded by its own private garden, the cottage is very peaceful and offers space for all of the family. Just a short distance from the pretty village of Broadwindsor, this cottage is an excellent spot from which to enjoy the beauty of rural west Dorset.

All on one level, Old Sandpitts Cottage has just been renovated to an extremely high standard and blends modern living with period charm. The kitchen/diner is a lovely sociable space and the mod-cons will make cooking up a feast a delight. There are traditional features aplenty in the sitting-room where a gorgeous inglenook fireplace takes centre-stage. Light the fire and cosy up on the sofa - just bliss!

The master bedroom has a pretty outlook towards the garden and is a tranquil place to retreat to after a busy day exploring. Next door, the second bedroom has bunk-beds, with a four-foot bed on the lower level and a three-foot single on top (please note that the bed is situated with one side against the wall). Old Sandpitts Cottage accommodates four guests but this bed set-up does offer added flexibility.

Old Sandpitts Lodge (4377) and the Cottage can be booked together for larger groups of up to 10 guests, providing a great option for family gatherings whilst being able to enjoy your own space.

Outside, the space at Old Sandpitts Cottage is excellent. Make the most of summer evenings on the terrace, or how about a picnic under the willow tree? You may be joined by some friendly local wildlife so do keep your eyes peeled! The large lawned area offers a fantastic area for children to play (please note that the garden is not fully enclosed).

Whether you enjoy bracing coastal walks or exploring country houses, Dorset really has something to offer everyone. Old Sandpitts Cottage is just a short drive from the Jurassic Coast and bustling market town of Bridport. Be sure to make a visit to The Hive Beach Cafe in Burton Bradstock – fabulous seafood awaits you! Further east is the county town of Dorchester that still has weekly markets and should you want to venture a little further, then a day trip to the Purbecks is definitely worth planning.
