Short Breaks
A few days in the West Country can feel like a fortnight, so why not come for a quick getaway? The weather can delight at any time of year; our spring and autumn can often feel like summer in disguise.
Outside the busy summer season, many of our cottages will accept bookings of six nights or less. Not all cottages offer short breaks, and some can only be booked in the preceding weeks. Sound complicated? Let the Web site do the work and search for a Short Break below.

Winter Short Breaks
Winter short breaks apply when the holiday starts within these dates:
6 November 2013 to 17 December 2013
In this quieter period short breaks can be booked at any time in advance of the holiday.
Spring and Autumn Short Breaks
Spring and Autumn short breaks apply when the holiday starts within these dates:
20 March 2013 to 2 July 2013
4 September 2013 to 5 November 2013
This is a somewhat busier time and some property Owners prefer to get a booking for a full week, so they may not offer short breaks until a few weeks before the holiday.
Summer Short Breaks
Summer short breaks apply when the holiday starts within these dates:
3 July 2013 to 3 September 2013
These can be booked within different lead times depending on the property.
Christmas Short Breaks
Christmas short breaks apply when the holiday spans Christmas Day.
These can be booked after 1 November.
New Year Short Breaks
New Year short breaks apply when the holiday spans New Year's Day.
They can be booked after 1 October subject to Owner approval, or more generally after 1 November.
Rates for Short Breaks
The prices for short breaks are worked out as follows:
3 nights - 70% of the weekly rent
4 nights - 75% of the weekly rent
5 nights - 80% of the weekly rent
6 nights - 90% of the weekly rent
For short breaks beginning on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, the rent of the following Saturday applies. For those beginning on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, the rent for the previous Saturday applies.
