The other beautifully decorated double bedroom is at the front of the house.This bedroom has an original decorative cast iron fireplace.The contemporary shower-room is on the first floor next to the bedrooms.
 
The turning cottage stairs lead up from the sitting-room.There are pretty prints to really make this cottage feel homely.Shaftesbury's famous Gold Hill is a short walk away from the cottage.
 
The beautiful National Trust gardens at Stourhead are an easy drive from Shaftesbury.Salisbury Cathedral is well worth a visit.The stunning Jurassic coast is not far for a great day out.

This delightful 300 year old terraced cottage is a short stroll from the centre of Shaftesbury, a historic Saxon town in a stunning hilltop position. Thetis Cottage cleverly balances a very welcoming contemporary interior with plenty of period character. The kitchen/dining-room, with original panelled walls, opens out onto a little courtyard garden overlooking the other gardens at the back of the terrace. The first floor bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and there is a brand new shower-room (the stairs in this period cottage are steep, please take care). Shaftesbury has a great range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants and of course the famous Gold Hill as featured in those original Hovis adverts! The surrounding area is beautiful too, with locally named Zig Zag Hill – just as the name implies – leading up to the incredible panoramic views back towards Shaftesbury and over the Dorset and Wiltshire countryside. Visit Old Wardour Castle, Sherborne, Salisbury and the National Trust gardens at Stourhead – there is something for all within very easy reach. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
