The White House

If you were looking for cottages like The White House, how about trying these:

The historic port of Charlestown is a living museum to the age of sail with square-rigged sailing ships moored in the narrow harbour. These magnificent ships, used extensively in films and documentaries, are often seen manoeuvring out in St Austell Bay, a gloriously bygone sight to behold. Sitting right above the harbour almost within touching distance of the masts, The White House is a beautifully appointed 19th Century terraced house which has been lovingly and sympathetically transformed into a truly fabulous holiday home. Every thought has been given to ensuring your comfort in a stylish blend of the original and contemporary, from the under-floor heating in the slate-floored living areas to drench-head showers, luxurious mattresses and crisp white bed linen. Outside, a paved, sun-trap patio leads to a large, enclosed garden with sea views and a wonderful timber climbing frame-cum-pirate ship for children of all ages to enjoy. The uncluttered interior enhances the space and original features inside, making The White House somewhere you can truly relax and feel at home. The spacious kitchen/dining-room has granite-topped work surfaces, a range cooker and a large island unit perfect for casual meals or convivial food preparation. An old farmhouse dining-table and trusty family sofa look out over the quay to the front, so you can keep an eye on the harbour activities. A sitting-room and snug, and a glass-roofed games-room where table-tennis tournaments will bring out your competitive streak, offer plenty of room to spread out. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a modern four-poster bed and superb views over the harbour, shared by a second double bedroom and a large family bedroom with its own en suite bathroom, while the twin room at the rear of the house looks out over the patio and garden. A short walk along the harbour provides not just splendid sights, but access to the beach and coastal footpath, a choice of local pubs, restaurants, village shops and a coffee bar. If you can drag yourself away from playing pirates in the garden, visits to the Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, the fishing port of Mevagissey and the pretty sailing town of Fowey are all within easy reach.
